DULT in collaboration with Connected Places and Energy Systems Catapults and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is looking for potential candidates interested in doing internship on assessing the impacts of pedestrianizing of an urban street, in terms of Quality of Life (QoL) and other parameters. The internship is for a period of five months (tentatively between October 2020 - February 2021).
The Innovating for Clean Air (IFCA) programme is initiated to promote and support activities in order to improve air quality. One of the key objectives of the programme is Clean Air Street; i.e. promoting pedestrian-only street in the Central Business District (CBD) of Bengaluru. On account of this initiative, Church Street will be closed for motorized vehicles every Saturday and Sunday for 5 months tentatively from October 17, 2020. This initiative will demonstrate the benefits of pedestrianisation focusing on all three main pillars of sustainability such as environment, social and economy and QoL.
